Description

Winblo is a yellow, freestone peach that has become a real crowd pleaser over the years. It has a very nice, uniform, round shape, and typically averages between 2 ¾ to 3 inches in diameter. And it has that awesome peach smell! Winblo has what they call melting flesh because it practically melts in your mouth and is one of the most beautiful peaches due to its colorful blend of reds and yellows. Winblo is delicious to eat when ripe on the tree but also ideal for canning or freezing.  Developed by North Carolina State University and released in 1972, it requires 850 chilling hours and ripens in July (or 15 days before Elberta).

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Plant peach trees in deep, well-drained, sandy soil and in an area with plenty of sunlight. Planting should be done in the spring. Prune once a year, removing vertical branches to encourage lateral growth.
