Description

The Bottlebrush shrub gets its name from its cylindrical, brush-like flowers. This variety is drought resistant, and requires very little maintenance once established. The Bottlebrush can bring vibrant color to your garden area at various times throughout the year with its ability to produce these flowers in the spring and then once again in the summer. Although they are drought resistance the Bottlebrush does prefer moist soil, so a drip system is recommended. Attracts nectar feeding birds. The tree loves warm climate, moist soil, and a lot of sunlight. The tree reaches a mature height of 10 feet.

USDA ZONES: Zone 8, Zone 9, Zone 10, Zone 11.

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Red Clusters will thrive in most acidic to light alkaline soils; they need water but do not thrive in heavy moisture without adequate drainage. Proper mulching will ensure root survival in colder zones (especially zone 8)--with plenty of sun these plants should thrive as long as the climate is moderate and low salt--do not plant on shoreline properties.

Bottlebrush is heathy; glad I ordered

The “red cluster” bottlebrush will be beautiful in our yard. It is going to make to quite a visual statement, I am certain. It “missed” a 5-star only because it of it not being selectively pruned to have it be more compact and bushy. I trimmed it to the height I wanted and now look great all summer! You guys sold me a very nice plant, indeed!👍
