How to Plant

STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.

Care Guide

Water apple trees regularly, making sure to keep the soil moist without drowning the tree. Prune in the winter while the tree is growing and in the summer once the tree has reached its desired height.

Thr Dorsett Apple tree I ordered came quickley and arrived in great shape. It had a beautiful root system and is already getting leaves. We are very happy with our purchase.

Overly Expensive and Barely Alive Tree

When the tree arrived, it looked almost dead. It only had two tiny leaves on the top. I didn’t dare plant it. It also cost over $60 with tax, etc. I bought the same type of tree yesterday from the local grocery store for $30. It was huge, healthy and flourishing.

Great product and service!

My tree arrived very quickly and was packaged with great care! My tree is healthy and while it is a little slimmer in foliage than my Anna tree I got from them, it is still a pretty good size. I am very happy with my purchase from this company!

Arrived in good condition

Arrived in good condition, will need a couple of years to tell you how the apples are, but we followed the directions when we planted and they seem to be doing very well.

Impressed with delivery quality

The trees (Anna and this Dorsett) were packaged excellently. each root ball was sealed (zip tied) in a heavy plastic bag, and very moist (not soaking) when delivered. The size of the whip was impressive (roughly 5/8" diameter) and had healthy looking green leaves and some new green growth. I am really looking forward to getting apples off this tree in the years to come! The Dorsett gold had a sucker at the base and i assume its the scion trying to sprout, so i pinched it off when i planted it.
