Description

Heritage is a classic name in raspberries, a red variety with sweet flavor and great holding ability on the vine. Unlike some varieties, Heritage won’t fall to pieces if you delay picking the ripe fruit a day or two; it stays firm, juicy, and super-flavorful. Heritage raspberries are an everbearing variety, producing tasty, medium-sized, firm red berries from mid-summer into fall. Plants are very vigorous and resist powdery mildew. The plant reaches a mature height of 5-6 ft and a width of 2-3 ft. USDA ZONES: Zone 4, Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8.

How to Plant

STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.

Care Guide

They do best in enriched garden soil that is moisture-retentive but well-drained. Plant about 3 feet apart in the row, or train up a trellis. For best growth, cut back immediately after planting, to prevent the plant from setting fruit the first year. This will give you much stronger growth and better harvests in years to come. Water well during growth, and consider mulching to conserve water until the following spring, when the mulch should be removed to let the plants warm up. In winter, cut back to about 5 canes per crown

Heritage Raspberries

Arrived quickly! I had ordered 3 and of the 3, 1 is looking a little limp but new growth and shoots are growing so I’m expecting it to pick up next season. They are all growing blooms, we’ll see if we can get some berries before the season is over! :)
Would buy again!

Have a few planted the with fall gold raspberries . All my plants are on raised beds.

Feed the soil they get bigger in the long run.
