Peach Trees - China Pearl

Prunus persica
USDA Hardiness Zones: 4-8.

$69.95
SKU: PCHCHI05G

Description

Large, sweet, white-fleshed fruits and exceptional hardiness make China Pearl a must-have for peach growers! This late blooming cultivar can withstand sub-freezing temperatures with little loss of crop. The peaches are huge, 3 inches or larger, and the stone come away cleanly (freestone). Great for eating right off the tree or for cooking, canning and freezing. The flavor is sweet, with the lack of acidity characteristic of white-fleshed peaches. The fruit ripens in July, just in time for those summer gatherings. The tree is self pollinating; and will reach a mature height of 15-25 feet if kept unpruned. It is cold hardy in USDA Zones 4-8.

USDA ZONES: Zone 4, Zone 5, Zone 6, Zone 7, Zone 8

How to Plant
STEP 1) First, decide on a planting location. Consider carefully what kind of sun, soil, and growing-space your tree or shrub will need.
STEP 2) Once you've located the perfect spot, the hole you are digging must be at least double the width and as deep as the root system you are planting.
STEP 3) Remove the plant from the pot and place the root ball in the hole. The top of the root system should be level with the ground. Before placing the tree or shrub in the hole, use your hands to gently break up the root system.
STEP 4) Once the plant is in place, backfill the hole with native soil and any leftover potting material.
STEP 5) Pack down the soil to eliminate any air pockets.
STEP 6) When finished, water thoroughly.
Care Guide

Plant peach trees in deep, well-drained, sandy soil and in an area with plenty of sunlight. Planting should be done in the spring. Prune once a year, removing vertical branches to encourage lateral growth.
